Finished my Roof Basket.
I copied this design from "4x4Dalton" . So credit goes to him.
Just made mine a bit longer. It is completely bolted together.
Im happy with it, specially for 70 bucks.
Here are some pics i took before mounting it...Now it is held down with 6, 1/4 inch self tapping screws...Thing is strong..

Good looking rack. 1st time I've heard it called a roof basket. Cool. Only thing, if you plan on putting anything in it, you better ditch the self tappers and get some bolts. Enough weight up there and you'll rip them out eventually.

Yeah, I'd use bolts, flat washers and lock washers to be safe. Remember, self tappers drill the hole the screws are going in to so it's ripping while it's installing. There isn't really a "tight" fit with the threads there. You did an excellent job and it looks awesome. I'd just hate to see you loose it due to a minor mistake.
