Easier way to keep it cool

This is what I spent all day doing yesterday. Wasint really going for looks. Was more of a concern to keep the temp down by letting the hot air out thru the top. I raised it 1 inch which I thought would be plenty. Anybody thats going to do this should know if not already know keep it cool and don't go nuts on the welding or it will warp the hood bad and it will look like crap. I would do a write up but I don't have the privilages to. Tell me what you guys think. Thanks

What I want to do is go up about an inch and a half. And in the middle part, keep that at stock height. so I would have to make 4 cuts and more welds, but have a double bulge hood.

I did the 1" spacers on the back of mine but that is a damn nice job you did on that one. There is someone on here that built a cowl into the back of the hood and moutned a radiator fan in it. The only downfall I see is I get a little lawer of crap on the bottom of my windshield since i did mine. Doesnt bother me thow, I figure its at the bottomand makes the ice a little easier to get off down there.

Easiest way to keep the welds from warping the thin metal of the hood is to tack on end, wipe with a cold, wet rag, then move down to the opposite end and tack, wipe down, and basically move back and forth between the two extremes of distance until you reach in the middle. That way no one part of the hood has a chance to heat up enough to warp.
