Thinkin of makin a swing away carrier but not exactly sure how I wanna do it. I have the mount for a factory swing away but previous owner tossed it like an ***. So please give me so input an advice.
Maybe challenge yourself and make a super awsome cool swing up tire carrier? lol I have a thread going with ideas in it for anyone to copy. I have yet to begin building it, because of a lack of money. I have a job interview tomorrow, as soon as I get some money coming in, I will start building it.
This is just a suggestion, and a different idea. I just think there are too many swing outs out there lol.
A to Z Fabrication has a whole kit for making swing outs though, here a link to them:

I got an idea an my father is a welder so I get material for free usually already have some 1 1/2" pipe heavy wall an an yj spare mount ima use. I'm gunna use the factory mount for the hinge point. Kinds drew somethin out bout it looks like its on a yj lol not a good artist.
I don't have a factory hinge. But how beefy does it seem? I'm not sure the factory mount could support a 33" tire, but I don't know. If I were you, I would just make an entire rear bumper, then add the swing out to that, and be sure to tie it into the frame rails.
But you could probably beef up the factory hinge mount to support the tire by tieing that side into the frame rail.
