Exclamation Custom Headliner!!Complete Directions

ok, so my Jeep had the MOST ugly headliner in the world. for months i had been driving aroung in a tent because of my sagging headliner. So yesterday i want to my local autoparts store and saw this carpet, headliner adhesive called permatex.can ran for about 10.99 (you need two) so i baught two and then went downtown and baught some custam fabric for my headliner. In total i needed a little more than two and a half yards. so what i did first was i tooke off my old headliner. to do that you need to open the liftgate and and start with the first panel which has i think like six srews. once you have that off you have to work your way to the front by taking off the hand rails ond the other panels. once you have those off you need to(if u have one) disconnect the top consol. you do that by taking off the two srews in front and sliding it out torwards the windshield. after that take off the remaining visors and seatbelts, you also have to take off the speaker covers and take out the spakers. once youve tooken all that out and the headliner is free from anything still attatched you need to push the headliner up and disengage it from the sides.after that it should slide right out. what i did after that was i stripped off the old fabric and cleaned the headliner with a broom to take off the old padding, what you should be left with is a clean fiberglass looking headliner. after that i matched up the sizes and cut the pieces. After, i layed it out on top of it and folded it in half(its easier and theres less of a chance of messing it up)and sprayed the bottom half of the headliner first this should use up one can remember you dont want for it to caome off! also remember to cut out all of the holes from thew headliner and if your headliner has the rear speakers built in, your gonne have to work your way around the molding. and remeber how you took off everything and where everything went as installation is the opposite of removal.

Well I did this a while back but I figured I'd post this too. I basically did it all the exact same but instead I sewed a flag onto black headliner material. Super easy and cheap to do. Hope yall like it!

if any ones looking for headliner material they sell it at wallmart and some atozones the part number is HU-804 and change the number at the end for different colors walmart usally has it though and they have mossyoak and realtree camo patterns at least and the ones in arizona ive seen different ones though its lik 10bucks for a roll of it the ones from autozone have padding on the back the permetex in the orange can is the best one alot dont notice it but on the spray portion of those cans if you look at the nossel you can turn it from small med and high for the spray pattern which is awesome for doing headliners
