Inside this box where the arrow is pointing is the scrap piece left over that we cut out from the front fender when we made room for the front wheel. It worked perfect in this place because it followed the contour body line of the rear fender. Then we simply made a piece out of sheet that you can see in the pic right behind the box that is kind of in a Z shape to match. By doing this we were able to bring that steel bumper around the corner and kind of recess in to the quarter panel body line and it not stick out away from the body. I like how it turned out.
Tonight I cut hood vents in. Got the idea from another thread on here. They are awesome. Used the vegetable grill sheet like in the other thread. Liked it so well that I'm gonna make grill inserts out of the same stuff.

I want to do hood vents to but don't know if I should risk cutting so far most everything's been bolt on. But you have no fear of that lolOriginally Posted by RichW

It def made me nervous as you can see from the sweat on my bald head. LOL. But a steady hand and it really was a simple thing. I have an upper hand hear though because my jeep hasn't been painted yet so instead of calking I'm gonna spot weld and instead of door trim around the cut, the primer, paint, and clear will bridge the vent and the cut edgeOriginally Posted by alexallen86

Where's the eye protection? Lol
Take it from a guy who's old man lost an eye that way...put on some glasses. It's all fun and games now though. He's got a glass eye and jokes about it. But at the time, it was a VERY serious matter

I agree completely Adam. I should take the time to get everything ready including safety equipment before I do stuff. I have a bad habit of just picking stuff up and starting on it with taking that time or thinking about it.Originally Posted by adamk

Oh I do the same thing. It's not til my old man walks out in the garage, places his fake eye in front of me and says "you want this?" that I go get some glasses haha
Anyways, I've been watching this thread sense day one and I am very impressed. You and your brother-in-law do some great work. I can't wait to see it finished
