Cherokee Chief/ XJ axle swap
I gots a question for ya.
Ok I found D44's front and rear out of a 1978 Cherokee Chief. He will let them go cheap if they will work. Has anyone ever done a chief axle conversion on an XJ?

Haven't done the conversion, but I think the rear would be alright (dunno if the leaf spring perches would need to be moved, or shock mounts, but that would be it), the front would be difficult due to the fact that the Chief has leafs in the front instead of coils, so you would have a lot of bracketry to get straight, or you could make it a little more simpler and do a leaf spring conversion in the front. hope this helps
