Update:

The console is installed. I had to do some cutting to accomodate the factory air tunnel that goes from the lower dash to the rear seats. I also relocated the E brake to the floo board space just left of the driver side seat. Seems to work flawlessly. All I day was buy some cable, connecters, and mount the E brake assembly with some bolts and spacer. I had to cut a small whole in the floor board for the cable and taper the whole with a grommet.

I had to extend the gear shift from 6.5 inches to 10.0 inches to accomodate the height of the new console. I did this with a pieve of painted, galvanized 3/4inch pipe. I'm not too impressed with that. I'll be looking for a more formidable solution to that problem.

As always, Pics to come.

Pics or it didn't happen lol. I am really interested in this e-brake relocation.

I wonder if the assembly out of a Chevy Caprice would work...

Pretty sweet! The Comanche foot brake is an awesome idea. I think I might go with that one.

I am really interested what you did to re-locate your ebrake. Pics of where it is and the mechanics of it would be awesome!

Did you make any progress on this? I'm trying to wire my XJ up for lights and siren and I have a full console that I swapped in. Where did you mount the siren speaker?
