Honestly its all down to your antenna and coax. A $34 radio shoots 4 watts like a $100 radio (unless you start modding or adding amps). A good antenna will go a long way.

Off topic, sorry, but what are the switches you have on the center console and dash?

Easy fix...

take of your visor clips, slide on a bracket, screw the clips back on.

The dimensions dont really matter. I found some random 3/8th steel and welded some L brackets to it. Just make sure you make one that is wider than the clips which should be about 8-10 inches apart. just make sure you drill your holes to line up with the clips screws

i got measurements, sorry for stealing ur idea FlemingXJ but i made mine 11.5" long and only drill 4 holes in it. 2 for the bracket that came with the CB and the other two were 9" apart. pretty easy. thanks for the idea FlemingXJ!

I like this location best, unfortunately I have the overhead consol so that's not an option for me. For shorter guys it might be an option to mount it to the overhead consol between the sunglass holder and the rear seat lights, but I'm bumping off the head liner as it is so I don't want to be wacking my head on a CB in the case of an accident. I'm going to have to explore other options when I finally get a CB.

well i just found it was the easiest place to mount it and it is in the center of the jeep which means that both cables for both of my 102" whips will be the same and also easier to hide the wire for them

I'm not complaining, don't get me wrong. Just thought I'd throw the idea out there about mounting to the overhead console, even though I can't do that either. Maybe someone else will be able to?
