Yeah I swear someone tied a rope around it and just winched it down as tight as it would go. The sides are all pushed in. I have since pushed it out mostly...
It is actually a Realistic (Radio Shack) It's old and right now it's not working right.. I think it is just old and abused though. I need to invest in a SWR meter first though...

The Wally World CB is a Cobra Mini for 34.99....as far as range and over all funtion...I don't know, havent mounted it yet, and I got a Magnet Mount attenna (for now) and that too will affect range. But the specs on it are as follows:
Frequency Range: 26.965-27.405 mhz
Channea: 40
Modulation type: AM
Attenna impedance: 50 Ohm
Loudspeaker: 8 Ohm
Mic: 1000 Ohm/Electret
Power Supply: 13.8 VDC neg ground
Sensitivity at 10dB S/N: 0.7 uV
Selectivity: 45 dB + 10 kHz
Squelch range: 0,5 uV-500uV
Audio Output Power: 3.0W@8Ohm (10% distortion)
Distortion at 1000 mV: 3%
Audio Freq. response: 400-2400Hz
If any of that help...to me it all

Aside from features, all cb's have the same range potential, FCC limits them to 4watts of tx power, but from the factory they do not transmitt that high because they dont take the time to "peak" them, they generally anywhere from 2-3. The range is determined by antenna quality and location and tune. You can make a 30$ walmart cobra cb outperform a 500$ cb easily, the price is just for the lil doodads and doohickeys, like sound tracker, night watch, noise blanker, automatic noise limiter, weather, clarity adjustments ect ect.

Ok gonna try mount'n it between sunvisors. turn'd the clips and saw I have a couple holes there, so a quick measurement of 9 1/4"x1/2"x1/16" piece of alum./steel/hard plastic (whatever local hardware store might have) should work for a mounting platform.
Would anyone wire it into the fuse box? Or should I run it to the Batt? I'm gonna try and mount the Fog lights today as well, and thoose I'll run to the batt, so wasn't sure on the power supply to CB. ill post picks later.

Ok got it hooked up. Wired into fuse box and all is well. I did do a little minor adjustment on the mounting bracket. Decided to move it a little and made 2 new holes. So far so good.
Wantagojeep is correct, 40ch CB, VHF Police/SAR radio and a scanner, so if I’m talking on one frequency on the VHF I can monitor the other frequency’s and hear if someone else is trying to get a hold of me. Sorry my dash looks so bad, I had just replaced the heater control unit and installed new switches for my rack lights
I mounted mine under the glovebox...got long arms and no problem reaching it...as it's been said the antenna and location, etc are the real performance mods for the CB...Truck stops will have alot of the stuff you need and even SWR tuners.
