I had by buddy that is a fabricator but not a jeep have at it, just do what he needed. Looks like he cut more then I gave it to him with right up to the pinch.

So did he leave the pinch seam or did he cut right behind it? Only reason I ask is because I'm about to do mine and just trying to figure out how much to cut back. That's all.

The pictures show that he cut out the pinch seam. I left the pinch seam and beat it flat to the bottom of the slider and welded it in place.

looks good,

those feet dont look very strong imo.

If you weld them completely in your getting around 10 ft of weld out of each slider, that is ridiculously strong,
I have 1.5 tubing welded onto mine to protect the doors and I have torn that and folded the tube up so the door wont open from coming down on a rock really hard,
the 2x6 never budged and mine are only welded to the sheet metal.

welding to the pinch seam is a good idea imo.

it looks like the top is welded to the body, if that is the case it should not rattle. I had a dodge that I had them to close to the pinch and they knocked like crazy
