Default bolting on frame stiffners

So I got my hd offroad stiffners and my frame is a little more dented than I thought. So in some spots the gap is pretty rediculous. To mee it seems like I might as well drill holes and hope the bolts will pull it in closer and try to just weld around the edges of the stiffners, is this a good idea or not.

stitch welding a few inches at a time is more than sufficient

i have a 10" gap without weld in a couple places and it doesnt worry me. i dont know how bolts will pull it down, if you could somehow get a nut back there i can see it, but otherwise there is no way it will grab the stock rails and pull it down.

floor jack helps getting the stiffys closer to the rails. jack it up until it starts lifting the entire jeep.

Yeah I think I may just miss some of the plug welds.
