Default Baja inspired light bar

so I have 4 monster sized Pro Comp H11 offroad lights to light my world up at night while driving my 99XJ

Baja inspired light bar-downsized_image03172011183927.jpg
on the right are standard 6" PIAA lights..... like i said, these are huge

time for a light bar......

Baja inspired light bar-light-bar.jpg
this is how i plan on setting it up.... I figure on using steel Conduit (3/4" or 1") for the most part... maybe some solid steel rod for some areas....

If you still have those mounts bolted up, could you measure the distance between them for me? I made the mounts for my rack a fuzz too short. Cant wait to see the light bar done!

hahaha i couldn't find any or else i prolly would have

but i got some work done on it today finally

Baja inspired light bar-downsized_image06062011164759.jpg
started off with the base "hoop"... this was before i cut down the tube ends..

Baja inspired light bar-image06062011175215.jpg
thought about making a run to the bank with my stack of dimes...

Baja inspired light bar-downsized_image06062011175226.jpg

Baja inspired light bar-downsized_image06062011174420.jpg
Then threw it on quick for a double check on my measurements....

Baja inspired light bar-downsized_image06062011174339.jpg

so thats it so far... ran outta conduit to cut and weld lol so prolly more progress later this week... next step are light tabs, then the top guard/hoop and then the support bars... paint and it should be good....

You should bend that center tube up a little bit to match the roof line, would look cool.

you like those rail mounts now that you'll taken them on/off a couple times? I was looking for a set a few months back and ended up favoring the JCR mounts; although other projects have now taken priority I wondered how they felt/fit on the truck.

eh, they seem fairly level with the roof as it is, and with how tall my lights are (from base of mount to top of the light is 9.5") i dont want my top "brush bar" to be waaaay up in the air... its gonna suck down pretty tight to the lights how i have it planned... the lower the Light rack sits the better.. lets crap to potential wreck em lol

so far i think they're pretty awesome... i've installed them "naked" for measurements about 3 times, and now that they're mounted to the base of the light rack i've mounted them twice. So far no complaints

Nice start man! I'm still fabricating my roof rack and I'm gonna order those JCR mounts tonight. I'm glad you like those mounts they look very nice on there! I'm anxious to see those lights up on there! Keep it going!

BTW... you weld conduit much nicer than I do haha
