Your bumper is sick, very nicely done. I am looking at doing one myself. I have a couple questions. Do you have tube stock under the plate like your rear bumper build? I saw you used 2x4 tube there. Same here? What's the wall thickness? Plate thickness? Just wondering what everyone is using. Thanks!

Thank you. No tube on the front bumper. Basically I just got 10 feet of 5" wide, 1/8th inch plate, and cut out each individual piece. I only did the top and the front though, no bottom. Then the mounts are 1/4" thick plate.

Looks great, my xj has a homebrew on it right now but am scraping some money together to tweak it a bit. and I really like your rear w/ swing, might copy your swing a bit but use round tube instead.... plus just bought myself a TIG a few months back and it gives me an excuse to use it :P GREAT WORK!

Really nice bumper!! Great welds also. I have a Lincoln 230 Mig, and sometimes my welds do not look that nice! Good steady hand.

It's the Lincoln 125 HD which is wire feed. It can be run with gas less flux core wire. Or MIG with a bottle of gas. I use the flux core has less wire. Real quality for a small hobby welder at around 400 from home depot.

The mounts are 1/4 inch plate and the main bumper is 1/8th inch plate

This is NOT part of my bumper but this is what I'm working on in my welding class. This is 7018 in the horizontal just before a 3-bead. I really like stick welding and 6010 is my favorite electrode.
