Default angle of lower control arms

So I have all this .250 wall 1.5" tubing laying around and got to thinking that my xj needs new lower arms. Does anyone know what angle the tubes need to be bent at to achieve the proper alignment and suspension?

Not enough info. . How much are you off setting the lower bushing, what lift?

Gosh and here I thought it would easy to just get an answer. All I have is that its short arm. I dont want to buy a long arm kit, what I have is perfect but my LCA's are not adjustable whereas my UCA's are. Plus my LCA's are worn out. I could go over to Ironrock and buy their LCA's but since I have the extra tubing and have priced out the parts from Ballistic Fab, I know I can do it cheaper. Plus they'll give me a discount since I am a vender with them. I hope this helps.

Agree. Don't worry about bending unless you're doing LA's...

Quote from the fabrication section rules:

"Fabrication is reserved for completed and under going projects, not for questions and general chat about fabrication.

This is NOT the location for questions about what you want to do, they belong in cherokee chat. This is NOT the location for trimming fenders, rattle canning your xj, lift questions, installing new carpet or anything small like this. This is for REAL fab work that you are currently doing or have done and how you did it. AKA, Exocages, Frame stiffeners, Bumpers, DIY beadlocks, etc."

To answer your question, the control arms do not need to be bent. Putting a bend in the arms has no effect on the alignment or suspension kinematics.

If I were on Pirate4x4 I would expect to be bashed, but not this site. If I am making something and want an immediate answer then I choose this section. I dont want to wait around or get a bunch of " I dont know" answers. On this Jeep I dont have to do a bunch of fab work like you mentioned above but I am constructing some arms, I am DYI FABBING control arms. Thanks for your input though.

OK, you don't say how much lift, but up to 4.5" short arm all you have to do is offset the axle bushing enough to clear the shock mount at full droop. But you still have not given us enough info to say one way or the other. So there is no quick answer.

Its up to a 4.5" lift. I got all the info I need and Ballistic Fab has all the parts I need.
