I dont know if its happened to you, Yet!, but be real careful with the cut area that covers your brake handle. These Ammo cans, when cut like the way you cut yours, will give a person a very nasty, deep cut. Trust me, i have three scars on my right hand to prove it.

Ive got the ammo box instaled in my Jeep for the time being but the inside in not welded up yet. Things have been just super crazy around here with all the projects Ive go going on with my XJ.

I know its been a awhile but Ive got a ton of projects going on. Here are some pics of what Im thinking about doing since my thin metal welding sucks. I finally found some console pieces that came stock on a bare bones XJ/MJ. Gonna try to integrate some of this stuff.
As it is right now, it works great! All I really wanted was an armrest but the added storage is a big plus too! Just gotta fill in the gaps so the little stuff doesnt fall out and do some finishing work and then I might paint it.
Since my Jeep isnt running and its too dang cold here in Denver to crawl under and instal a CPS, I'll be working on this project for awhile.

That may be my next plan. Hadnt thought of that one. What Ive got planned right now sill work. Just gonna take some elbow greese and time. But in the end, it will look hella good and have a hard to find/see hidden compartment.

Yeah Im gonna fab a spot to put a good lock on it.
This is what Im planning to do with what I have at the moment. If I do this right and take my time, nonthing will be falling out from anywhere.
That bottom plates pops out so working with the plastic piece will be much easier. Then I can just drop it in when Im done. Just gotta die the plastic piece black, and then I can work on mounting/epoxying the two together. May sound jimmy rigged, but if it works and comes out looking good, I dont care.

update
sprayed both my console pieces with dupli-colors "vinyl &fabric" paint. They both came out great. You wont be able to see the eBrake cover though much of the time since it will be in the converted ammo box/arm rest.

This is my base plate that drops right into the ammo box. I will be doing some fine jimmy-riggin' this by using a clear and fast setting epoxy to glue the cover to the base plate. I also have some very small brackets I fabbed up that I will use if needed.
