this kinda makes me want to rip my center console out. I wont but if it ever needs to be done, I already have an amo can I can use.

 

I like it, gotta be way stronger than that stock plastic junk, I also have a 99 and would like to do something with mine (airbag we don't need no stinking airbag).

i'm excited to see how this comes out. just the other day i was sitting in my 96 trying to figure out how i could do this very same mod with an ammo box. I dont like how the ebrake splits the box in two though. I want to maybe relocate ebrake? I want to be able to lock the console if doors are removed.

This is pretty awesome! My stock console just broke on me. Did you just screw it to your floor?

 

i have never seen that style of console around your shifter. is that a factory thing on early cherokees or is that custom?

 

It is in some MJs and in some low end XJs. It is called a mini console. My 93 has it also.

But I tell you what.. it gives you a lot of freedom to do what you want as far as cup holder, center console, radio (CB/Amateur) mounts, etc goes...


Switching to a Comanche (MJ) ebrake is possible. It is foot operated. Or you could possibly move the stock ebrake, maybe over to floor area to the left of the driver's seat.
