I like it, gotta be way stronger than that stock plastic junk, I also have a 99 and would like to do something with mine (airbag we don't need no stinking airbag).

i'm excited to see how this comes out. just the other day i was sitting in my 96 trying to figure out how i could do this very same mod with an ammo box. I dont like how the ebrake splits the box in two though. I want to maybe relocate ebrake? I want to be able to lock the console if doors are removed.

But I tell you what.. it gives you a lot of freedom to do what you want as far as cup holder, center console, radio (CB/Amateur) mounts, etc goes...
Switching to a Comanche (MJ) ebrake is possible. It is foot operated. Or you could possibly move the stock ebrake, maybe over to floor area to the left of the driver's seat.
