93 motor in01

93 motor in01
can anybody tell me if a 93 inline 6 fit a 01 cherokee, is the elec. all the same . im pretty sure itll bolt in motor mount wise just dont know the diff. in between the motor for the years. thanks!

the basic block is the same, but as far as i know, that's about where it ends.
the 01 has a different intake and exhaust manifolds, not to mention it's a distributor-less engine with coil packs instead.
i'm sure there are other issues that will come up when you try to make the wiring work. not sure if the 01 ecu will run the 93...
not to mention, it's illegal, at least here in canada to install an older motor in a newer vehicle, for emissions purposes.
maybe someone with more experience with non renix motors will chime in with any other differences.

Guess I'm in trouble then. I've got an 88 shortblock with a 94 head in my 91 Limited. No one said a thing when I went in for my emissions test other than WOW how did you get the emissions so low some of them aren't even registering. They said they checked their machine 3 times to see if it was broke,
BTW the short block had 288,000 km on it when I took it from a parts jeep. never touched it other than to clean it up for new gaskets,
