Looks awesome. I have a Comanche shell sitting around that I have been tossing around the idea of doing this. Can't wait to see how it comes out.

How are you bracing the rear frame work into the uniframe where it meets at the body? Are you sleeving it into the frame rails?

It goes in about 20" into the rails. It will be welded to the floors then welded directly to ruffstuff stiffeners and unirails. There will also be a few extra body tie ins and ofcourse tied all in to the cage

You couldn't talk him into weee bit larger axles for the 40's? lol

I intend to do something similar but I plan to also remove the windshield frame and B-pillars. Leaving just the firewall and floor to build from.

Well when we were discussing the trade the original plans were for 36-37" tires, which the axles had no trouble with. But then one day he showed up with 40s .

It should handle them ok i think, well see. If not, hes already talking about dropout 14b axles

And heres another picture. I start on it again tomorrow.Name: CAM00247_zpsan29mwik.jpg

After a couple weeks of not really touching it. Got a couple things done.
Mocked up the sliders, and built the bridge to connect the two crossmember halves. Along with pulled it all out to weld the back of it. And got the stiffeners in place.
