I know this is about xj's but im thinking of something i can take the top off for summer. i dont know squat about those jeeps.

so what model should i look at wrangler, cj, ???
any year that was better than others?

im guessing stick to the 4.0 L.

I'd get a TJ with a 5 speed

 

03 and up tj. They had the best of everything then.

 

I have a 04 tj btw. Lol. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

 

You can get a ford bronco cheaper tho.

what is your budget and preferances? there is alot that fits into cj or wrangler.....
run to a newstand, in the last jp mag they did huge articles on cherokees and all gens of wranglers, all the performance and visual differences and more or less desirable options and how engine, tranny, tcases are prared up (there are more differences in the wrangles than chrokees.

 

How so?

 

Better wiring. Better trans. Better heater controls. Better sound bar. Better interior. Better roll bar. Want me to keep going?

Rubicon with a 6 speed. That extra gear is nice, my step mom has one and my dad has a 5 speed rubicon and its a hell of a difference. In other words if your wallet can swing a tj rubicon do it!

 

Yea the seats are better. Rears have child seat safty spots (dont know if thats a big deal...was to me) fronts are softer and have better support. Windshield has trim around it. 4 cup holders. 2 front 2 rear. Headlight switch on the columm @ the blinker switch. 3 more dome lights.

 

My vote is also an 04 TJ. My dad has one and I learned to drive in it.
