Soon to be driver
Ive had the car for about a year now. havnt really had the time or the money to fix it, but here recently we had to really get after it to get it from were its being stored. Well after sitting at are friends house (were its currently being stored) me and my dad went down, got the brakes unstuck and took it out for a drive. Oh ya by the way i got the car for FREE a year ago. It sat behind a garage for 7+ years and after talking to the guy that preveously owned it he said i could have it. We went down put a battery in it, some gas down the carb and it started right up. It is a 1962 Plymouth Valiant Signet 200 2 door hardtop (one year only option) its a 225 super six with a 1 barrel and a 3 on the tree. For what ive drove of it so far its amazing!

Ive had many ideas on it. Was thinking old school gasser? with the straight axle. Or rat rod. Or lower it put the 2 barral setup that i have and a header on it, then put a overdrive 4 speed in it and make it a driver. I dont think ill restore. The one thing that makes me want to keep it is the fact that its a one year only car and it seems to be very rare!

Nice old Mopar. Sweet little car. Put a "Hyper-Pak" 6 in it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plymouth_Valiant

Those aint cheap Their is a site called aussie performance and they make a intake similiar to the hyper pak and they are actually better. Problem is they are like 300 bucks for the intake alone soo ill stick with the 2 barral.

check out slantsix.org. the site also has a lot of knowledgeable members regarding your car. the aussie manifold may be $300, but price out a hyperpack manifold and the aussie will look much more affordable. like was said get an overdrive 4 speed and you will love it. i have a 70 dart 2dr hardtop with a 225 slant, all aluminum OD 4spd, and a 8.25 with a posi. the motor has a rv cam, clifford 4bbl manifold, holley 390 cfm vacuum secondary carb, and clifford headers going out a full 2.5 exhaust system with a flowmaster 40-series. boy did it sound good at higher rpm.
people will tell you to put a v8 in it, but a well built slant will get way more attention. and you can beat most mild v8's. look on youtube. i say do a restomod. not stock, but not fully built. just a nice driving car that handles good and is reliable.

Im on forabodiesonly.com and ive found out alot on my car. I thought about putting a v8 in it but thats alot of cutting and i would be losing the heater box and then would have to build front suspension and then would need better rear end and the list goes on and on, so to expensive for me. I want to put money in the jeep to get it lifted. Then get the valiant all around driveable and then Put money into my Hornet. I was thinking at one time of getting the offy 4 barrel but herd some bad things on them, so im post poning that. As of right now it drives great for being almost a 50 year old car. And the fact that it sat for 7+ years and it being the way it is, is just amazing.

Once my jeep gets the lift i want, and my hornet gets its 4.0 ill start putting money into the valiant. But as of right now its just a "drive to the gas station for a soda" car It needs a pillar work, floor work, and a little bit of brake work. Once the Hornet and jeep gets its goodys the valiant will get upgraded to 5 on 4.5 bolt patten so i can run some keystone style 5 spoke wheels, and get a 2 barral.
