I've been haveing some wiring problems but i'm getting closer. Here's a pic of the engine compartment done and I have a trade in the works on a set of grand Wagoneer 44's.

Thanks, it's running smooth now and I think I have all the gremlins took care of. Seems to pull real well and getting ready to start the axle swap.
Thought I would update alittle. When I started tearing down the truck for the SAS conversion I found some cancer that I just couldn't live with. I'm 40 now and this might be my last big build so I went out and found a rust free 87 blazer and started over. I have the roof off and tucked and some of the cage bent up. I also have the 8.8 in and the rear springs flopped and the 2.8 ready to come out. I just have the cinder blocks under it for mock up so don't yell at me I'll have stands under it before I go back under. I have to put the 350/350 in before I can build a crossmember that I can hang my arms on. Hope to have this on the trail by spring.

Thanks! Can't see the pics at work though. hafta wait and get home. I'm doing a D30 swap under a Ranger...
Yea I liked the build so I started mine with a first generation and a small block. I think it'll all come together. Some updates on morris's blazer he beat us all at the last mud bog by over a second. We run a 6 cyl class and his 4.3 is killing are 4.0's but he still can't hang with me on the trail he's just too top heavy to run off camber.

cool stuff. I actually have the opposite idea. I want to do a IFS on a ZJ and make it a 2wd pre runner with the 93 ZJ my buddy bought for 100 because it has a bad transmission.
just use a front axle out of a 2wd cherokee, it'll bolt right up and it's just a straight tube, and all the steering will be the same..
I finally got the blazer back on 4 wheels. I ended up going with sprung under leaf springs in the front with a D44 waggie axle. I couldn't get the arms off the frame with only 6 in of lift. I didn't want to go any taller because of the kind of riding we do. I still have to swap out the rear axle with the D44 and reset the shackle angle once the small block is in because of weight. Sorry for the crappy pic but I got done late....
