Yeah, I'm talking about this thing:

Maligned as hideously ugly, my friend has one purely for that reason -- because it's ugly. I was a little iffy at first, but after having both ridden in it and driven it... it's actually not bad. It has a lot of little utility niches all through it... some surprisingly good ideas, like a center console that doubles as a removable cooler, and more cargo netting than a sane man can make use of. He has the front wheel drive version, but I think there was a 4x4 or at least an all wheel drive version of the thing made, too. No idea how well it would work, but the 2wd does pretty well for the light off-roading he's used it for. Plus... that tent thing in the back is kind of a little cool.

Anybody else think these are at least a little cool-ish?

Had a family member with one, yea its ugly but riding in it and playing around with some of the features i think its a pretty solid car. I think alittle body work and you could make it look halfway decent

A friend of mine has one, also. They're ugly as crap, however they are pretty neat on the inside. He has the AWD version. Rutledge had one on TopGear (american version) that he cut the fenders out, put some bigger tires, some lights, and some other stuff I can't remember at the moment. It looked pretty damn cool. I tried looking for a picture of it, but can't seem to find one. It was season 3 episode "worst cars".

My brother has owned 2. One he flipper with a queen size mattress and box spring on top and he was fine. He paid $150 on ebay for the stock tent and it is real cool. Look at pics where they did a prototype offroad type aztec.

I think its one of those cars that nobody liked when it came out, but later will, because its kinda cool and unique and everyone remembers them, and could be pretty useful also, "ahead of its time" , no need to buy a separate roof top tent, huh?

Based off the Toyota Matrix, on of the best little "features" is the factory installed inverter.

I've always thought of them as downright fugly but anything that comes with an accessory tent attachment, is worth a 2nd look IMO.

You either love them for the features or hate them for their looks but, under no circumstance should you paint one bright yellow and purple and draw attention to it.

I saw that episode, it was the "Worst Cars Ever made" episode. Also Remember the very first season of Survivor the winner got one along with the $1Mil.

Especially with purple and orange flames.
