Not stock at all. But please understand this car has been with him/me a very long time. Its not mine, and I'm pulling this info from memory. I've done a bit of work to the car, but most was done by someone else. Anyway...

The 396 and M22 are sitting somewhere in his storage garage. Those were stock with the car, numbers matching, documented, etc etc etc. Bought from a dealership in IL somewhere around the Chicago area after one owner. I don't remember at all where.

Currently its got a 454 grown to 489 with a MILD cam, cuz he wants drivability and ease of 87 octane. The 14 bolt rear has had work, and a beefed up locker, not sure what anymore. Between the two is a Tremec T-56 (I think) 5 speed trans, with a Centerforce clutch. Mild heads, I think they are aluminum, I should have taken a pic, I'm sure someone here would know. MSD ignition, 8000rpm limit. I think its kinda high, tossing that much metal around at that speed. But he's an old man, I HIGHLY doubt he gets past 3k. The Quick Fuel carb is a true double pumper, I have no idea what CFM. 3/4" spacer that SHOULD be a plate for a wet spray, but isn't. It'd be easy enough to hide. Headers obviously, and a H pipe the rest of the way back through flowmaster something or others.

It came with factory front discs, and they've been mildly upgraded, but to what I have no recollection. Factory drums are in the rear, my father plans to upgrade. Factory steering, I think he's got something in the rear for wheel hop. The whole car has been beefed up since its unibody, ladder bars and a few other braces. Again, its been awhile.

The entire car has been built to take major power and abuse, but is really on a conservative "tune" because of my father's wishes. He wanted something that would last, and it really has.

However, I still think there is room for improvement. I noticed someone said something about not touching it at all. I think the steering needs to be upgraded, my father likes the "loose" feeling of the original setup. That car is worth alot to both of us, I think its handling needs to be up to par.

Other than steering, I would only update the sound system, bump the motor up a bit, and have some spray on tap.

Of course the thing doesn't get traction as is, so tires would have to come as well.

Little more history, the vehicle was bought with a trade. The trade vehicle was given to my father when his mother, my grandmother, died.

My grandfather, his father had passed a couple years earlier.

Quote: I wish I had pics. Thing is beautiful, inside and out.

And has less than 35,000 original miles. Documented.

Originally came with the 396, 375 hp. and rock crusher M22 4 speed trans.
Just realized I under estimated the mileage. Its just under 37k.

Damn thats one sweet ride. My father about 19 years ago had a 1969 SS camaro. Oh do I wish he hadnt moved to Cali and sold it. Then again it would probably a rust bucket by now considering how he takes care of his vehicles. Awesome ride though and thats some low miles on that thing.

Thanks on both.

I wish that was a better shot of my hair. I'm a couple weeks past the need for a haircut, and I rode there on the bike. 90 mph hair is the best.
