Car has potential

 

Got a good deal on some sun visors and had Stengelbros make me up some new U bolts. In the process of moving to a larger apartment. Can't wait until that's over with. Looking forward to banging on the Gremlin soon. Parts wise I am close to getting it to roll under its own power. Just need more labor time.

 

progress, no matter how little it is is still progress. keep going, i want to see this done.

 

That's just what I got in the mail today.
There is a pile of stuff waiting to go on the car and more stuff in the mail. Have had really good luck getting OE parts from the AMC community. Almost getting to the point where I have to decide how much street I want to put into a strip car.

 

nice. i need to find parts for my truck, trying to find a good condition OEM tailgate is a pain in the ***.

 

Any other years compatible? There are Five 85s in Carson city pick n pull right now.

 

80-86 are. but i bet shipping will be a ***** lol.

Got all of the information I needed from the engine's internals. The builder didn't skimp out on it or the transmission. Spent Saturday improving the cosmetics. Didn't take to many pics but the block is painted and the engine bay is undergoing some surface rust repair. Can't wait to get back in.

 

what are the deets? aftermarket? pink rods? splayed mains? what rotating assy is in it? are you going to use a harmonic balancer off of a briggs to free up some hp?

 

O yeah. All the above except the balancer. I prefer the asymmetry of one from a gravely.

Bracket racing is the current plan so no need to post on a public forum all the minor details.

 

bracket racing is on et, mods to the engine don't matter. any real bracket racer has a 100 hit hiding somewhere anyhow.

 

Got the paint finished up over the weekend. Need to get the engine back together and what not.

Right. I see you got your tailgate. If I had more time I would've filled all the useless screw holes and cleaned up the pinch welds and all that fun stuff.
