Dodge guys
Have a 05 caravan at my shop with 3.3L engine.
Ice already done several searches to come up with nothing useful.
The complaint: owner was driving and it just shut off and would not start.
What I have here.
Lights and gauges work.
Turn key to start. No signal to starter
Cooling fans run even with key out of ignition till battery dies.
No spark
No injector pulse.
No communication at obd port
What I've ruled out after testing.
Computer is fine. I took it out and plugged it into anther van and it works.
Ignition switch tests good.
I've tested relays and they are good.
I've checked every ground I could find and good.
Any ideas?

I don't know if they still use the CCD on newer vehicles but if one of the wires is shorted or broken it will cause all of your symptoms.
CCD or Chrysler Collision Detection is their vehicle network protocol in attempt to reduce the number of wires going to various parts of the vehicle. The two wires are essentually a data bus linking engine, trans, gauges, information computers, ABS, BCM, TCS and other systems to the main PCM.
The OBD port should be tied to the first junction block so if that is dead then you might have a wire short or break between the PCM and that block. The FSM should be able to tell you which wires are part of the CCD. In my Jeep it was the purple and black with white stripe.

Thank you very much that is helpful to me. I did not even think of that.
So far I've been using my fault finder and nothing so far but from all the leads ive gotten including you has me suspecting a broken wire.
This van has almost 300k on it so it makes sense that fatigue and vibration will start opening up electrical nightmares.
Well see what I find this weekend.

Most Chrysler vehicles will still start and run while the anti theft system is active however the security light flashes and the engine will die a short time after.
I only know this because my mom has a liberty with the Sentry Key system. She had a "dumb" key made. It will start the Jeep but it will die a short time after.

have you tried to pull any codes? does it give signal to the scan tool? I know you ruled out the computer being at fault but i would look into pulling a code.

I've got nothing for codes. I've finally threw the towel at it for wasting to much time on it. I've got other things that need to get done to make money.
Its a company van and they wont get another van so I've got a Master electrician I know coming to take a crack at it.
If he cant fix then I'm telling them to junk the pos

Had an 03' about two weeks ago. What kind of scanner do you have Dan? We've got a Snapon Verus. From what we found (similar situation) it was the ignition module. The ring inside the ignition cylinder had gone faulty, and wouldn't id the key. The fans on ours didn't stay on, but I could see it sending a false signal to the pcm.

You know I suspected that..But idk ow to test it. But I had a guy thats really good with electrical look at it for half the day and he's kinda stumped to.
It's going to the dealer now. I'm washing my hands on this we don't have the time to be messing around with it anymore. I've done everything I know and gathered all the info I could and so has this other guy.
I'm done with this pos.
I pushed it outside lol
If the dealer solves the issue I'll post what they did.

Well I talked to the dealer just now and it sounds like they are having trouble but in other words like this they said out needs a computer and it's going to be a couple weeks before it comes in, I said I ruled out the computer.. I put it in another van and it worked! They guy paused for a minute and said he'll let me know. Haha!!
They are basically bsing me and trying to get more time. It's kinda funny cause they have all the tools for that van!
