Its looks like a jeep now not the horrid cross over it was before

now on the IFS hate kinda funny on a board where most of the owners have a 3in lift and 33s. I came from and still wheel with a lot of nissan and toyota guys and a 3in lift and 33s on those rigs (xterras, tacomas ext) do damn well.

Looking at the IFS of a Hummer isn't really a good example because the H1 has geared hubs which allow for the differential to sit higher in the frame and the wheels to hang lower. A better example would be a Toyota in which most people use drop brackets to lower their front diff. You can just lift and IFS but you put the CV's at a ridiculous angle which causes them to wear out quickly. Now add a locker and combine that with a high angle and you have a recipe for a broken CV joint (ask me how I know) everyone I know with IFS once they get past a certain point they swap to a solid axle. The only way (imo) to make an IFS capable with any kind of lift is this

Even then the wheelbase has a stupid wide stance.

A good example of a SAS is here

Long story short, until Jeep brings back the solid axle (in more than the Wrangler) I don't think I would ever look at owning a new one.

Sorry for the soap box
