Default Axle shaft question?

My brother inlaw has a yj with upgraded alloy shafts. He's buying an 04 Tj. He's wanting to swap them out, is this possible?

The front shafts will swap over, they are the same.

:edit: Assuming the YJ has a one piece passenger side shaft.

Yea, when he upgraded it got rid of the vacuum disconnect. I was wandering if they weren't all that different, I was looking at part numbers online and they were different.

That's good to hear, one more question. Will a Detroit trutrac work also? I'm assuming the only thing that's different is the ring and pinion since it's a low pinion?

Not 100% sure on that. I do believe the diffs are different between the two, I could be wrong, might wanna wait for someone else to chime in.
