Default 89 bronco II SASed D30 WJ knuckle swap Q's

I know this is the jeep forum and anti ford like crazy i'm sure. But I need some help with getting some things straight. I have been doing a ton of reading! Most what I found is people swaping WJ knuckls to newer XJs for the crossover steering. Before I order start ordering parts I want to make sure i have the facts right.

My D30 is from a 89 xj that my buddy wrecked and I got the axle when i helped him gut his xj for all the parts he wanted.

Here is what i believe i need to the swap right:

99-01 knuckles form V8 WJ
99-01 calipers, brackets, bolts etc.
99-01 ball joints both upper and lower.
99-01 steering linkage ( I may just go with OTK and use Goferit Offroad tierod flip inserts)
99-01 XJ unit bearings
JKS flange spacers
Brackets to mount my Trac bar over the axle.

I've found it hard to find whats cut and dry. If i redrill the rotors from the WJ to 4.5 bolt pattern will have the caliper spacing problem so many talk about? Some say you wont have any problems if you redrill the rotors. But I have ready that if you use explorer sport rotors you will have spacing problems and you will have to ether install washers or had the caliper bracket taking to a machine shop and have them machined down a bit.

Do you guys think i have the right list? I have found differnent anwers to the the caliper spacing, I just want to know if i can by all the parts to not have the caliper spacing problem or that no matter what year rotor/make or unit bearing (99-01) i will have the get the caliper bracket machined. Thats the part that i can't find is cut and dry.

Heres links that have been very helpfull to me:

I couldn't find a EB 44, there hard to find this far up North, I did search a little. My buddys D30 fell into my lap (Free) and It was a very good upgrade compared to what i had.

Its a 89 Bronco II, I have Rustys 6.5" coils, 3" body lift. Custom long arms by me, Trail gear flex joints, Poly perfromace bushings. Long arms powder coated chevy orange. I have a rough country trac bar with James duff BroncoII/ranger SAS trac bar mount (it bolts to the engine crossmember worked Great! I have custom built mounts welded to the frame by me. Stock steering, (which sucks) I have a little death wobble. Rear I have F150 2wd leafs with belltech shackles to give me about 6" of supension lift with the body lift i have about 8-9 inchs of total lift. Running 16" black offroad rims with 33" super swappers. Engine is 2.9V6 and 5spd which will be making way for a 5.0 and auto soon as i get this thing not to sway/drift so bad.

I also have a flex problem that I believe to be ether the steerig and or trac bar. I'm gona pull the coil out this weekend and make sure what is binding and fix it because this thing has no flex like at all in the front.

BatmanXJ so if I use all that parts list (all the axle side) I won't have the caliper spacing problem? Thats the best parts list I have found after a week of reading after work! Thanks Huge help!

I wouldn't say for certain. what is the main reason you want to change your knuckles? are you breaking it alot or what?
I have a buddy that want to get rid of his TTB. His is also an 89. His isn't that big yet but he is looking for the 44. I think we might have found one at a local jy. I honestly don't see my buddy getting his done. I have pretty good skills but not in custom suspension. I also don't see him putting the money that it will take. Death wobble could be the trac bar. That's the just down side of the solid axle

my buddies work in progress

I was just out looking into another way of doing my steering. I found the WJ knuckle swap and it seems like a very good swap. I really wanted cross over steering really. but a local 4x4fab shop gave me a good deal on one tons and the tread inserts and I'm thinking about just going that route. Not sure yet!

My swap went pretty smooth! I made everything, most buy everything. I did just about everthing but the trac bar and the trac bar mount. Even tho its a D30 is way better than the D28! (I feel its just as strong as a D35 which is a swap most do but it is still TTB)

Long arms are simple to build, I did everything with a old buzz box (Arc welder) and a 140 mig.

I can give you my link to my build over on another from if you want? (http://broncoii.org/forum/index.php?topic=14453.0) it goes threw everthing and is still on going

cool. I'm def gonna look into that. I know it would be fine for what we do. Also there are so many jy's with d30's it would be easy to find parts for.
