I was looking for something with 4wd that would work for another toy to go along with my cherokee. Found a 91 4runner for 1500. I was wondering your guys opinions if you have any. it does run and is in good condition.
my questions:
good for wheeling?
how hard would it be to get a lift kit?
other opinions/ ideas?

HOW COULD YOU
, Jk lol. I'm sure older 4 runners like that are good off roaders, of course not as good as an xj
. Check out rocky road, i think they have some lifts and such for those.

i used to own a 91 sr5 with the v6 and a manual, i loved it the only down side to them is the v6 is way under power for it, and it is prone to blowing a head gasket, if it has the i4 jump on it those things are more bullet proof than the 4.0 and fun as ****,
wheeling they do pretty good real fun and capable,
lift kits don't know never got one for mine,
if it ever get an other first thing i'm doing is throwing a carbureted 350 and a Chevy tranny never stop it then
if you do get it take a look at http://www.northwestoffroad.com/ its a company completely devoted to 4x4 yotas

I had an 86 that I did a solid axle swap on, but I never finished. They're good trucks with a HUGE aftermarket for anything bumper to bumper. The 3.0 v6 is kind of a turd and will blow a head gasket or two. The fuel injected 4 cylinder is only about 20 horsepower less than the 6, but way more reliable. www.trail-gear.com and www.marlincrawler.com will have a metric butt load of stuff for a Toyota.
I would not bother with a lift kit for the front, it's easier and cheaper to do a solid axle swap and it will wheel better with a solid axle up front. A Toyota with solid axles will go just about anywhere you want to go, even further if you don't mind banged up sheet metal.
