Default Head questions.

Ok, I'm gonna make this as short as possible. I have a 98 Cherokee, it is set up to run coil on plug, not distributor. Yes, yes. I know, it's not supposed to be, but it is.
So the engine is blown, I want to replace it, and the head. The head is no good.
I have an engine from a 96, that is a good strong runner.
So I've decided that I'm gonna put the 96 engine into 98 and do what needs done to make it work. I've got that part figured out. Now I just need to know what head I need to get. So far I'm looking at this one. It's a 0331 casting, which is what I need for the intake and exhaust manifolds, plus coil rail, that are in my 98.

Is this gonna work? If not which one do I need? Please help, I got to get a head ordered tonight or tomorrow so I can get this jeep on the road this month.
Thanks in advance.

Someone must have swapped the engine in your 98 for a newer one. Either way, assuming you have a newer engine with an 0331 head, coil packs, no distributor, etc. that head you linked will work just fine. I would double check to make sure the head you currently have has the small exhaust ports.

Either one of those will work, just make sure when you order you specify its an 0331 head casting you need. The first link you posted has a higher rated seller though, and its cheaper.

T., I noticed the seller rating, they'll cost about the same, one has free shipping, one doesn't. Thank you for replying. I just need this to run, and run well.

Sure looks like a later model engine, those exhaust manifolds are definitely 2000/01, so you do need an 0331 head.
