Default 2006 cobalt leaking something on interior

well this is my sisters car and dont know exactly what is leaking nor what whatever it is its leaking from. any idea of what this is? this is below the steering wheel behind the plastic from the dash board.

the first picture if you cant see the leak its coming from that silver piece to the right of the bar code by the little hex nut.

Has she taken it in for the recall to be performed for the power steering motor (that's what the picture is of). The "yellow" type "fluid" is grease that goes between the electric motor gear and steering column.

The campaign or "recall" number for that is 10023

If you have no idea, I can run that vin through GM Global Warranty.

If it has been replace recently its just some of the old grease seeping out. Normally when you pull the old motor off some leaks out.

I'm a GM Technician and have done countless number of these recalls.

Hope this helps you out

Is it acting funny or flashing anything across the DIC? I have an '07 Cobalt, but I'm no mechanic, LOL. I just had the power steering thingy replaced on mine, but I thought that was a problem with 07-08s

2005 - 2009. I just closed the campaign but it may even include the 2010.
