How reliable is the 2002 F-150 with the 5.4L Triton V-8 that run on gas and propane? I have a opportunity to pick one up for $500. It has no damage what so ever. It was a fleet truck. So, it has all the maintenance records and only 98,500 miles. But, I have no experience with any vehicle that runs on gas and propane.
Any info on this would be a lot of help.

I do plan on getting it and thinking of keeping it for a farm truck. I just don't know anything about propane run truck. The only thing that I do know is Propane is a hell of a lot cheaper then gas.

I will be picking up this truck next week and want to find out anything about propane operated engines.
Anyone know anything about vehicles that run on propane?

Any info Is good info for me.

Well I picked up my truck this morning. I found out something that the guy I bought it from didn't tell me. Well, What he didn't tell me is that last month they just put in a BRAND NEW trans with a full warranty and they also gave it a complete tune up last week along with a cooling system flush also changed all the oils, engine and rear end. It runs great. I think I'll be keeping it for awhile. This has to be the best $500 I ever spent. And, YES! He did give me all the documents and receipts for all the work done on the truck since it was new.
I would still like to find out and info about the propane system. BTW, The propane tank was also full and ran better then I would have thought on propane.
Thanks for the info that I did get so far.

Propane provides about the same power and mileage as gasoline. It doesn't pollute the oil with blow-by like gas does. It doesn't go bad and turn to varnish or separate when it's been sitting for a long time.
For these reasons, I want a generator that runs on propane rather than gasoline.
