ZJ trans 'wind up' , WJ 'whistle'
Friend has ZJ V8, says that since a driveshaft break it now seems to 'wind up' on the road after 10mins driving - he has to go onto grass or gravel to 'normalise' it again - problem after d/shaft repair ?
My WJ has a 'whistle/air sucking noise from under dash, like radio trying to find a station.
Any ideas appreciated

I have an '04 WJ w/the 4.7L V8 that we bought new, and it now has 112,000+ miles on it. I've never had that noise occur in ours, so I can't say for sure. Does your heat and a/c still work correctly? Can you see any grommets missing from the firewall under the dash? That might allow airflow to make noises through the opening.

Only bought the WJ the other day, think I found the source, it COULD be a vacuum hose to the brake servo because the noise under the dash varies with pressure on the brake pedal.
The ZJ problem MIGHT be like having the diffs locked while driving on the road - not sure if his mech might have done something that caused them to lock permanently when he was doing the drive shaft.
I'm going to look online for a drivers handbook that might explain how to lock/unlock diff etc.
