Default zj front driveshaft question

hey everybody so I'm going to the junkyard this weekend and I want to get a front u joint drive shaft for my 96 Grand Cherokee. can anyone tell me what all I need to grab to make it work with my application? also, if anyone knows what year and model I should look for that would be very helpful. thanks in advance!

We need a lot more info than what you've given us so far. Engine? T/case? What do you have for end connections now?

Right now I've got the NP249 transfer case and the 4.0L eventually I'm going to do a transfer case swap but I don't have the money for the transfer case yet.

1 is a picture of the front of the shaft going into the front differential and the other is the rear of the shaft going into the transfer case

Okay, so my next question is why do you want to buy a driveshaft before you decide which t/case you're going to use? Are you planning on lifting it? I think you should wait until you buy the t/case, then figure out what you'll need. There are many different length driveshafts with different styles of drive ends. I think at the very least, you'll need a u-joint yoke for the front diff.

Okay. Yes I plan on lifting it. I was actually going to buy Rough Country 2 inch budget boost just to get a little lift for now but they say I'll get vibrations from the front shaft if I don't have the u-joint style shaft.

Just remember that is MY opinion. I'm sure there are others.
