Winter tires
We get some goofy stuff here. Its usually fairly thick, but can be rather opposite just the same. Our storms tend to last a couple days, with high, high winds that leave 10ft+ drifts.
And it sticks around awhile.

HAHAHA. yeah nothing says "a rush" like blowing doughnuts out on the lake. it's fun, but scares the fish. (i do a lot of ice fishing here) sometimes i take the sled out, other i take the XJ.
My fav is waiting til the early morning hours, when the blizzard is at full force and no one is out, drifting my normal day-to-day drives. I basically go where ever I normally go, but its so much more fun with snow and no other cars.

I run these:

Mastercraft Courser A/T2
Really good in all winter weather (Sleet, Snow, Ice, Rain) And good offroad. A little loud around 70. I have 235's but My dad runs 31/12.50's on his TJ and likes them. They have good road manners and are acceptable in the mud.

I paid 123 A tire at the local place. My parents run them on the Jeep and a 3/4 ton truck and haven't used road hazard yet. Plus they come with 50k Warranty.

Well, I haven't been stuck yet, and trust me I've tried. They're not Super Swampers by any stretch, but they're as good as the BFG AT's that my Dad ran on his Jeep and their last truck.

I think that if you ask your local face to match Tire Racks prices they will. Keep in mind shipping charges and everything else so you are comparing apples to apples. I can tell you after 15 years of selling tires, I can always get in the ballpark on price except Michelins. Costco, BJs and Sams can install the damn things cheaper than I can buy them, never figured it out.
