Winch Bumper mount question

Winch Bumper mount question
93 ZJ, I-6 4.0L
I'm thinking of building a front bumper. I have found many great ideas on the style of bumper but I have a question. I want to build a winch bumper, I don't have a winch yet but I want to build a bumper that can hold a winch.
1. How deep should the bumper be to hold a winch?
2. Are most winch's the same depth?
3. Is there a set clearance I need from the winch to the grill?
I plan on using a 2x4 tube as the mount into the uni-body channel. I also plan on using crush sleeves with bolts on the side and putting the nut strip on the inside of the mount tube. Is this fine?

1. Look at the specs for the winch you want
2. Look at the specs for the winch you want
3. Enough so doesn't hit.
Seriously they all vary. You need to be pretty good to do 2x4 tube Mine is 4x6 tube
Easier to do plate. I'll be staring mine on my 2000 GC this week.
