Default Wife Hit A Deer...Got Pics

Ok Guys,

So my wife hits this deer and does miner damage to the front grill and headlights and you can see pictures below.
I just replaced the NSS (Neutral Safety Switch, Battery, Starter, Oil, Etc), 11 Days ago...running great until, a couple of days ago.

I Goto start and would not turn over and something causes battery drain..with in seconds. I thought it was bad starter, because starter was clicking. Replaced it and hooked it up, battery just drained...

Question where to start probing first? Fuse box and checking amp drain?

Have been watching, lots of video on parasitic drains. I'm no electrician, so we learn on the go. Anyway, here are some pictures to see...

Oh, and tell me, what the part is on the bumper, I cannot figure it out. It was below hood latch???

Thanks

That part in the center should be the ambient air temp sensor.

Go get your new battery tested, wouldnt be the first time a new battery is bad. Otherwise start cleaning/checking all your battery connections including grounds.

Deer strikes really suck!
Help the wife calm her shattered nerves, cluster your roof with deer whistles, start the Jeep rework.
The shock of striking the deer could have caused internal damage to the battery, plates cracked or shifted.
Test the battery with load tester. If it fails test, return for warranty.

Ya know what works better than deer whistles? Aggressive tires! My Chevy K10 had 33X12.5 mud terrain tires on it and the deer would stop, look, and run the other way! Of course the 2 Cherrybombs helped!

Hell that would have made women and small children run and hide

Yeah, that thing was a monster. Sort of like the Bully-diesels are today, but in 90 it was nasty. I bought it from a kid who built it and couldn't keep it running too well. He had stuck an 89 TBI 350 in it without an 02 sensor. It was running a dedicated dual exhaust with a pair of cats from the 4.0 S10. It was running the NP208 (?) t/case with lockout hubs, but I couldn't get more than 8 mpg out of it. I sold it to another young kid and bought my ZJ!
