Where does front diff vent tube attach?

Where does front diff vent tube attach?
1997 Grand Cherokee, daughter's daily driver. I found what looks to be the front differential vent tube hanging underneath the Jeep and touching the ground.
I have it temporarily wired up, but does anyone have a description or pics as to where it actually attaches on the upper end of the hose?

Anywhere you want to, as long as it's higher that any water you may wade thru. I think my ZJ's was under the battery.
