well my A/C doesnt work, the compressor at first didnt do anything, so i bought the recharge kit and followed the instructions, the compressor cycles and i have pressure in the system, but no cold air? should i drain the old refrigerant out? i dont have a clue how A/C systems work, any help would be appreciated

ac should be on max blower and the lowest temp setting if compressure is staying on and not cycling sounds like a door maybe is no opening allowing the switch from hot to cold

thats what im being told from some experts, now is it normal for the compressor to come on and off about every 5 seconds because i looked at my buddyes car and his stays on the whole time, and everytime the compressor kicks on the pressure in the system drops to almost nothing then starts to build back up when the compressor kicks off

You dont have enough in it. Your measuring from the lowside and adding from the lowside right? Psi amount varies with outside temp.

Actually it will when it gets to the set temp. All cars do it.
