What are the pro and cons about wheeling with a ZJ. Because I am looking in to getting ether a ZJ or a XJ. I have had XJ before but not a ZJ any help would be cool.

It is all about a driver. 2 weeks ago I went to a beach and had to pull out XJ from sand. 15 years ago I had 1973 Grand Wagoneer and did some mud racing. No modification done to my car. I went trough and never get stuck. Friend of mine had F100 with 6inch lift and large tires, got stuck. I had to pull him out. It is not much about equipment, but how you use it.

pros:
available v8
easy front to rear coil lift.
coils on all four.
larger interior space.
heated seat option.
solid tie rod on v8's.
disc rear brakes.
available v8
cons:
they are harder to fit 33's. lots of lift and cutting.
harder to get custom front bumper.
larger to fit on tight trails.
42RE is the worst tranny made.
some come with the crappy 249 t-case.
also crappy d44a on some.
rear hatch rots badly.
door latch area breaks.
too much tupperware.

I would say ZJ all the way, of course I am a little partial! Oh, and the bumper thing, I have you covered if you need some. I built mine, and could build more easily.
4 link front and rear, V8, leather seats, 35" tires, and A/C. What more could a Jeep need?

What about the 5.9?
As for the 42re, the red one in the pic below has 210k on it. All original except for alt, waterpump, and rad. Normal maintenance done to it and was abused a lot before I got my XJ. I have more seat time with that wheeling than I do my XJ and I have had that for 4 yrs now!
As an owner of both a lifted XJ and a lifted ZJ, I must say I love wheeling both! The ZJ is more comfortable offroad. I am sitting at roughly 3.75" of lift and I put my 34" LTBs under my ZJ. Trimmed front bumper cover and pounded back pinch seam. Full turning with out rubbing.
