Default what fluid in 46RH?

94 ZJ with the 46RH... Do I use ATF+4 as the dealership I work at recommend? I know I've seen a lot of controversy... What will be the best?

The 46RH is a Chrysler trans so yes, ATF+4 is the correct fluid.
The controversy is over the Aisin-Warner trans used in the XJs. That takes DEX3 not ATF+4.

ATF+4 is designed to last 100K miles without viscosity loss, whereas ATF+3 and Dextron 3 are whipped at 30K and need to be changed. ATF+4 is backwards compatible with ATF+3. This from a Chrysler bulletin.

Another thing is that the dipstick might say Dex 3 may be used but i've found that All-data connect at my work says it can cause clutch chatter. Something i noticed while replacing a 46RH tranny with my buddy in his 94 GC
