Hi Team from New Zealand

In my right hand drive 98 Grand Cherokee I have a plug thing hanging down by my feet. Pictured.


What is this plug? I tried hard to find what its supposed to plug into but couldnt find a socket under there. Theres what looks like a separate diagnosis socket but they dont match in fitment.

(Also my jeep is annoying me with all power (Windows, lock mirror) dead on drivers door and abs orange light going on and off when it feels like it.)

 

It looks like the plug for the wiring harness. My 2003 has at least one for the trailer wiring...

That could explain the dead power too... Give it another look with a flash light to see where it belongs...

Hi thanks for the welcome and your reply. I spent some painful (for a six foot 2 guy) time under the steering rack trying to find what it plugged into and I couldnt.

Does anyone here have any idea where the socket for this plug is? Any tips on where to look under there?

Ill go see if my 2003 has anything like that...

 

The closest thing I could find was some plugs running into a fuse box type thing... Idk if your year would have one under there, but I guess its worth another look just in case you didnt.

 

Does anyone else here have my series of Grand and has an idea what that plug is for/goes into?

can this be OBD code reader diagnostic port/connector? Maybe not....just guessing
