Anyone know how much time / labor a water pump change should run ?

I was quoted 275$...or 150$ if I bring the part.

I could get a cardone or gates water pump for $60 shipped...

Anyone know which brand comes with a metal impeller? And would you change the thermostat at the same time?

IDK, but I went to Napa and looked at both the OEM and Premium ones right there in the store. I bought the Premium one for my ZJ and I think it cost me $49.

Change the thermostat? Why not? Do you want to take it apart again later? Also, why not replace the hoses while you're at it? All of them.

I may be overdoing it, but I had to take out a 2nd mortgage (home equity line of credit) to fix my roof, so I have enough credit available for major auto repairs.

Hi thx for the info. Will the labor go up a lot if I change the thermostat and hoses? Also, which hoses? The guy said there was no radiator hoses there.

There may not be any hoses attached to the pump, but I was just saying it would be a good time to change them while you have it apart. Your call.

This issue was solved by changing the water pump. Used a cardone model from rock auto.
