250 euro's! holly hell isnt that like $310 or so? there are rebuilt ones on ebay around $70 might be worth paying out the *** for shipping.. Depends on the company doing the rebuild, I'm sure there different over there. Over here alot of our rebuilt parts has a 3year or lifetime warranty from our cheap auto parts stores. I have a rebuilt alternator and starter on my 97 cherokee toy that has its *** handed to it every time I drive it and havent had them fail. They both have a lifetime warranty

I just did a waterpump and thermostat on my 94 GC, 5.2L last week.
It was overheating, had a mild leak, and a squeal when ambient air temperature at 75*F. Few things:
- Replace your thermostat while you have the system drained ($20 American or so and a real labor saver later);
- Do NOT use a chemical radiator flush, unless you have new radiator without plastic caps;
- Renew the coolant. It should only take 2 gallons+/-, and again, labor saver for $20+/- American.
How are the freight fees if you buy from USA and have shipped? And rebuilds vary from country to country. I had a Romanian mechanic who worked for me, and his idea of rebuild did not meet American standards. Just be careful. And Good Luck!

I bad waterpump can also growl if the bearings are bad and not ncessarily leak. Grab the fan blades and move fore and aft. If the serpentine belt pulley moves, the bearings are worn out.
I use reman engines, alternators, starters, but only new water pumps. Fortunately, the Cherokee's water pump is easy to get to if the rebuilt one fails. Save your receipt. ;-)

You have a few options:
If the shaft seal is leaking, you will see it dripping from the "weep hole" (toward the bottom of the snout as mounted, will be dripping from behind the pully.)
If the shaft bearings are going on you, the water pump will likely growl when running and you can see the shaft "dance."
If you suspect simply low coolant flow (possible without a blown seal or blown bearings,) you should probably flush anyhow - which will give you the opportunity to pull the lower hose off of the water pump and you can usually inspect the impeller from there. Sometimes, the impeller corrodes and loses blades - which means the water pump also loses flow capacity. If corrosion is visible on the impeller, replace the pump.
Those are the primary symptoms.

All you have to do is leave the cap on the radiator at half way mark and run until your thermostat opens, and then top off. Sometimes you have a to run a little bit longer, but usually that will do the trick to remove the air bubble.
