I am really thinking about getting a Cherokee. I want to use it as a daily drivers and off roading on the weekends. What are somethings to watch out for as I chose one and what are somethings to look for?

Make sure all the doors actually close straight and that there are no cracks/bends in the door frames. Also check where the steering box mounts to the frame(ish) that there are no cracks. Avoid one with the Peugot tranny, unless you plan on replacing it.

I am wanting a Cherokee. I don't have much of a budget for it right now, I am thinking about 2 to 2,500. Does Peugot also make the manual, which I am planning on getting also. I am still debating whether to do manual or automatic offroad. If I do get a manual I want to gear to low to crawl in first. Thanks for the advice. odgreen89on35's, that is awesome that you wheel it almost every weekend. I so want to do something like that.

The peugot tranny sucks! Get a ax15. I'm swapping my auto for the 15... It's a much better built trans

U can find a nice newer body style like a 99 for 2500 watch out for the 2000 and 2001 they are notorious for cracking a head and stay away from 84 to 86 they have a 2.8 v6 and those motor suck
