Valve tap(?)

Valve tap(?)
I have a 2003 6 cyl. with 160,000 miles and just started hearing a valve tap
(?). After it warms up it goes away,but what`s the fix involve? Is there
something I can do or is this something major.I bought the car with 40,000 miles
and don`t know the maintenance history. The previous owner said he did regular
oil changes,but didn`t have the receipts. I`ve done regular oil changes. Thanks

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter
The 4.0 is not a quiet engine by any means, mine sounds like a sewing machine at a sweat shop. But if it just started making noise, take a look at the exhaust manifold for leaks, make sure the oil level is full, and basic thing like that.
