V8 to a 4.0l swap

On a older model Grand Cherokee (late 90ish) with the 4.7L V8 4wd, will a 4.0L bolt up to the tranny. this is not my jeep, just asking this for a friend.

well i've got a 4.0L for sell and the man blew the 4.7L and he said if everything would bolt up he would buy mine

Wont just bolt up..

It would need a 4.0 trans, wiring harness, computer and probably quite a few more 4.0 WJ specific parts. He's better off sticking with another 4.7.

ok, just wanted to make sure it wasent something stupid like he wanted better milage. 4.7 prob gets just as good if not a little better. And what he said, u will need a diffrent trans, wiring and all the mounts.
