Hey doorless guys.....
any advice for getting them back ON lol. I can't see what i'm doing, and i cant get the pins to drop into the hinges. I removed the lower hinge pin because otherwise it would be in the way.
the doors are heavy and im getting frustrated. honestly i got them off faster last year when i was undoing all four bolts LOL

Exactly how did you take them off?
I made mine removable on a 94 cherokee where they could just slide onto the post....
Now on my 99 I just unscrew all the bolts for all four doors..

Designed to slide on. It's the same mod for the pre-97 XJ, just a tad modified for the ZJ hinges. I shortened the pins a hair and smoothed the edges, and now with two people we got the door on. Theres a problem though, it's too loose. The door has to be lifted up some to shut.
How did you guys stffen it up? All i did was....you know what, gimme five i'll take a pic.

When i was making the cuts, there was no way to remove the truck-side part of the hinge without cutting off the bottom eyelet off of it. I'm thinking that eyelet would have kept the door stable, and it would have closed properly. Now i have to find a way to make it right again.

Why are these doors so damn heavy? One man was about impossible and i pulled my left hip muscle out doing it. I'm stripping everything out of it and hacking away extra metal i swear it

I have no clue! What I did with my XJ was unscrew the three torx bolts on the door on both hinges then when the door wa sin my hands, I modified the hinge to were the door with 2 people would slide down in the hole...
I would take a pic but my 99 XJ doesn't have this mod, I just unbolt the doors when I want them off and bolt the doors on when I need them. Maybe this summer I will redo the mod...
All I can say is search some more on the forums and google.
