Default u joint help

not sure if this is right place if not sorry I have a 93 jeep Cherokee country am trying to replace u joints on front drive shaft it has one on back got that off the other is in like a cv joint there r two back to back I can move the ujoint up and down but c no way to remove can anybody help me thanks in advance

Welcome to CF!

That double-carden joint can be replaced. I believe there are snap rigs on the inside of the caps that can be removed with a screwdriver and hammer. There is a ball and socket on the center section that can also be replaced. The other option is to take it to a driveshaft shop for repair or buy a reman shaft. Your choice.

I also think the double-carden should be on the transfer case end.

thanks I got it apart c the ball and socket the double end was on the front you r the 2nd who says it should bem in back so will reinstall after I get it fixed thanks

Someone must have installed it backwards. That's why I mentioned it. It sees much less abuse on the t/case end. It's steady, not moving up and down all the time.

I took it to a driveline shop to have it checked the shft was wore out knuckle had a lot of were so I got one from a used auto parts place it is smooth and looks good will get it in this week and hope it works thanks for the info
