Default Transplant questions

hello all, Im a newbie to the forum with a few questions. I have two Jeeps, A 97 grand cherokee Laredo with a good body anda tired old 4.0l, trans, and transfer case with 287k on clock. I aslo have a 97 cherokee sport with a bad body beyond repair but the 4.0L trans and t-case are good. My question is... If I pull the motor, trans and t-case out of the laredo can i swap the good gear from the sport into the laredo and have a DIRECT bolt in procedure? this will NOT be used on road, just a toy for my cabin. My main concern is wiring, is it plug and play or nightmare?

This would be considered a ZJ build but I am using parts from a XJ.

The engine will work, the XJ transmission will not, the transfercase will.

The XJ transmission is completely different and all of the electrical is different, it's more of a headache than it is worth trying to make the AW4 work in a ZJ.
